Trailer News: Maritime Canada
5/22/01, 11:53 am EST - Xoanon
From:
Mark PI just got an email back from the Assistant Film Buyer who decided what trailers play with which movies for Empire Theatres, the largest Cinema chain in Atlantic Canada:
As far as I know, there will be no "Lord of the Rings" trailer on the front of "Pearl Harbor". Things could change from here until Friday, but I do the trailer programming on Wednesdays and there has been no request from Alliance/Atlantis "Lord of the Rings"' Canadian distributor.
He said he's email me back if things change, and I'll be sure to give word to TORN if he does.

Trailer News: Australia
5/22/01, 11:20 am EST - Xoanon
From:
OptiI have heard about the new trailer being attached to Pearl Harbour in the USA. In Australia the 2 films have separate Distributors so BVI won't be attaching these trailers to Pearl Harbour.
So far Roadshow (LOTR Distributor) haven't advised us as to when the new trailer will be available here. I'm sure it won't be far off and their next big release is SWORDFISH so it may be attached to those prints.

More Details on the NEW Trailer
5/21/01, 8:13 pm EST - Calisuri
Ringer fan Hackenbush, a theater owner in the US, sends us this:
"Hi, I'm a manager at a theater, and our trailer placements just came in. LOTR is listed to be put on Pearl Harbor, but I think it's the old trailer. Its running time is 2:13, and I think that's the length of the old trailer, isn't it? Also, it said "Lord of the Rings", not "Fellowship of the Ring". I can vouch this for ******* Theaters, but as far as the other chains go, I can't speak for them."
Not to fear Hackenbush! The Teaser trailer was much shorter then 2:13. Something like 1:40. So Yea! Two minutes of pure LOTR bliss, this weekend! I can't wait!

community!
Now you can tour Middle-earth with the help of the best Tolkien artists and images from the upcoming movies. Pictures are reasonably sized, arranged by topic and accompanied by quotes from the books; so "tourists" can compare several artists' renditions of Gollum, Gondor, etc., with Tolkien's own descriptions. Decide for yourself which artist got it "right!" [More]
