TV Hits Magazine: Mandy Moore on Elijah Wood

6/16/02, 4:11 pm EST - Tehanu

MM is asked, 'What was it like working with Elijah Wood?'

"Elijah is so amazing and talented and smart! He'd always hang around on-set and talk to the director. He would really get involved in the scenes and learn how it all worked... I've just finished filming a movie called Try Seventeen. I play a college girl who has a bit of a romance with Elijah's character. For the part I had to have my hair cut shorter and it was dyed back to blonde."

"Anyway the story is about a guy who rents a appartment off campus because he finds he can learn more from his neighbours than he can from his professors."
Thanks to FrodoFan1 for that.

This past E3 equalized everything, though, as each and every game based on the timeless fantasy epic that's currently in development was proudly on display by its respective publisher. Universal's PS2 game, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, is easily among the most impressive of the lot. [More] [Gaming Havens]

A Hunger for Fantasy, an Empire to Feed It

6/16/02, 3:35 pm EST - Xoanon

So far, this year's two most lucrative summer movies concern the perilous adventures of male teenagers, one in contemporary New York and the other long ago in a galaxy far away, struggling with the moral and physical burdens of their special powers. Over the winter, the box office was dominated by two rather similar young men, one at an English boarding school, the other in the meticulously mapped Anglo-Saxon dreamworld of Middle Earth. Together, these four movies, "Spider-Man," `Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones," "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," have earned more than $1 billion in domestic ticket sales.
