Most telling (or worrying?!) quote from Andy Serkis: “I’m looking forward to where the character [Gollum] is going to take them [the audience]. Because I think they think they know what’s going to happen to him, bu they’ll have a few surprises in store.” And Richard Taylor is quoted as saying of the third movie “It is easily two times more epic than film two. It will be the largest, most complex movie ever made”. For Orlando Bloom fans the same issue has 7 pages on “Pirates of the Caribbean” and an ad for the October issue (out on September 6th) that will apparently put Return of the King centre-stage with “everything you need to know about the final part of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth masterpiece!” [More]

The book is being published by Random House in New Zealand. Apparently an American publisher has expressed an interest in the book. More info soon!

Regarding the ROTK Trailer

8/05/03, 11:08 pm EST - maegwen

You have mailed us by the hundreds, nae, thousands... "Where can I find the ROTK sneak trailer?" "How can I find that trailer?" and even more, "Hey, you haven't posted the trailer, but I know where it is!"

The fact is -- We DID post the 'trailer,' and were one of the first sites to do so. However, New Line Cinema politely requested we remove all links to it, and to not direct people towards other unsanctioned postings of it. We believe in New Line's right to make this request.

How does this relate to you? Well, since we cannot post links, files or screencaps, we'd like you to STOP e-mailing us with the requests for and directions to the ROTK teaser footage -- our inbox truly overfloweth!

As of Thursday, July 31, New Line has stopped tracking The Two Towers domestically. In other words, the movie has ended its run as far as the studio is concerned. Final Official Gross: $339,751,253. However, The Two Towers is still playing in a few theaters. It was at 30 starting on Aug. 1. But New Line is notorious for stopping tracking when movies are still playing -- often hundreds of thousands of dollars will accrue after they cut them off. I'll try to dig up some Two Towers numbers and post them later, but it won't be with New Line's blessing. [More]
