Movie Market Shop Has LOTR Posters
- Xoanon @ 11:48 PST Just got a letter this morning from Movie Market shop and they have loads of new Lord of the Rings:FOTR posters they have Characters standing on their own (Legolas, Frodo, Aragorn, Frodo one of the four hobbits together surrounded at weathertop, Gandalf, The nine nazguls, and a wide poster of the fellowship on a mountain). But the best poster is a collage of 6 different characters on a wide poster the characters are sauramon, Galadrial, a Dark Rider, an Orc, Frodo, and Arwen this poster though costs a whopping £24

Woolworths Goes LOTR As Well
- Xoanon @ 19:33 PST I saw your articles on the WHSmiths LOTR stuff and thought I would write you about this. I just got a Woolworths Christmas Catalogue through the post (Woolworths is a British WalMart type store on a much smaller scale) and turned straight to the toys sections! Of course there was Frodo, Legolas, Gimili, Aragorn, Gandalf, Saruman, A Nazgul, Boromir and I think what must be Lurtz. I am sending a scan separately because I'm not sure it will work (I'm not the best with computers). Just incase the scans don't get to you, I'll give a quick run down of what I see:

There are two stars saying NEW on two sets of pictures of different figures. The two largest are Frodo and Legolas ( I don't know if this is significant or not).
They are priced at £13.99 per twin pack...I guess that means you get two in one pack (duh).....and £7.99 for single figues (I'm working in pounds Sterling of course so I'm not sure what the $$$ would be [ probably cheaper than here cos everything is overpriced here]). There are two descriptions:
1. Lord of The Rings Twin Pack - Figures have unique action features. Age 5+ (...yay this includes me!)
2. Lord of The Rings Figure - 15cm fully poseable action figures. Age 5+.

Shop: Danbury Mint Figures

They don't appear to be a tie in with the film trilogy but are an officially recognised/endorsed Tolkien Enterprises product and rather nice all the same. Ringer Spies Gothmog and Wife sent in some details about a new line of LOTR-figures..
There are 25 to collect and come with a very well presented display case made of wood. The figures are between 2 to 3.5 inches in height and are extremely well detailed. Though a little interpretational (the Sauron figure has one eye) we're sure most collectors will love them. They are £19.90 each (plus £1.90 p+p) and come in twos at two month intervals, though you have to purchase monthly by credit card or cheque. Overseas prices are £24.00 each.

LOTR Sword Pics & More

I am a die-hard Tolkein fan who happened to be in a Houston Texas Toys-R-Us today and found this Lord of the Rings Toy Sword! I bought it and took these pictures with a web-cam. The sword was $20.00, it is 29 inches long and plays two sounds. The pictures show the sword in detail. There is a depiction of a tree on the handle, so this is a sword used by a Numenorean, although there is no reference to that on the packaging. The pictures show the hilt, handle, buttons for sound, the blade, and the packaging. I have also attached a recording of the two sounds. Enjoy!
PS: Also in stores was an Uruk-Hai Bow and Arrow. I didn't buy it but from what I saw it was a Lord of the Rings nerf gun with similar packaging. Somebody else will have to buy it and send you some pics.
FOTR Soundtrack Cover

German Lord of the Rings shop site Elbenwald seem to have gotten their hands on the cover of the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack, which will be available from November 20th. Instead of a collage, it just features a still from the movie of all four hobbits on Weathertop. [Pre-Order the Soundtrack]
