BEN BARNES Is Prince Caspian!

Reports popping up all over the internet indicate that English actor Ben Barnes will take the title role in the second Narnia film: 'Prince Caspian'. Barnes was born on August 20th, 1981 in England. His previous roles include Chris Wilbur in the TV show 'Doctors', and he has just finished a Suzie Halewood drama "Bigga than Ben" and will be in the Matthew Vaughn fantasy film "Stardust".

C.S. Lewis Scholar To Keynote Lewis Conference March 2, 3

All those in Chattanooga who love the writings of C.S. Lewis will soon have an opportunity to meet and hear one of the most renowned C.S. Lewis scholars in the country. The Rev. Dr. Lyle Dorsett is the featured speaker of the first annual conference sponsored by the C.S. Lewis Society of Chattanooga. It will be held March 2 and 3 at the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Convention and Trade Center. Dr. Dorsett is acquainted with several who knew Lewis and has written a number of books about him: Seeking the Secret Place - The Spiritual Formation of C.S. Lewis, The Essential C.S. Lewis, and he is coeditor of C.S. Lewis - Letters to Children. [More]

Newton Howard Hops on 'The Waterhorse'

Director Jay Russel has posted a new blog on his MySpace website. He has some very exciting news!

"Just a brief note to tell you how excited I am that I just signed James Newton Howard on to compose the score for "The Waterhorse." I loved his scores for "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs." I thought both pieces had a wonderful combination of tension and mysticism. Not the easiest musical feat to accomplish."

Narnia movie execs scouting Glenorchy

A team of top movie executives was understood to be scouting locations for the second Chronicles of Narnia movie near Glenorchy yesterday.

A busload of about 40 people, all understood to be heads of department for the second Chronicles of Narnia movie from throughout the world, were driven around Paradise, the stunning backdrop for some of the most dramatic scenes in The Lord of the Rings rtrilogy.

The Southland Times understands Dart River Safaris vans had to transport the group up some of the narrow roads into the Paradise Valley, unable to be negotiated by the Pacific Travel coach they were believed to be travelling in. [More]

Forum Blitz with Prosthetics Wizard

From the geeks at WETA: Last year we tried something different on our Weta Forums, and invited Workshop Designer Daniel Falconer to ‘blitz’ the forums. And it was so popular that we have invited Senior Prosthetics Supervisor and Visual Creature Effects Art Director, Gino Acevedo to do it this month. Gino oversaw all the special makeup requirements that Weta Workshop provided for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. This included hundreds and hundreds of noses, ears and feet as well as the countless full facial and full body make-up appliances for all of Middle-earth’s non human inhabitants. [More]
