Narnia Set Report from ComingSoon

12/01/04, 9:34 pm EST - Xoanon

C.S. Lewis created a magical world in which all that a child could dream of was available just by walking through a coat closet. Director Andrew Adamson has put together an all-star team to bring Lewis' words to life. An important part of that team is Roger Ford whose wonderful sets allow the actors to immerse themselves in the world. Recently Disney allowed a first peak of those sets to the press, and ComingSoon.net was there to give you an inside look at The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. As with any set visit, not all that was seen will appear in the final film, and for those people who love surprises, there will undoubtedly be some spoilers. So for the fans of the book that want to know how it is being treated, read on. Everyone else is recommended to read the books first, a good recommendation at any time, and then come back here. Dark Horizons has an exclusive first look at some of the artwork from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe! [More] The opening shots of wartime London under aerial attack give us an idea of how exciting the beginning of the film might be, as well as cluing in the audience to the fact that during the Second World War, thousands of children were sent out of the cities to escape the danger of bombing raids. Many of C. S. Lewis's readers would have experienced, like the Pevenseys, both the air-raids and the displacement to a strange new house in the country where they were left pretty much to their own devices.

Dark Horizon's also gives us a good look at the mysterious Wardrobe!
