Awards Party FAQ

A ring Is this an 'official' Oscar or New Line Cinema party?
NO. This is not an official Oscar or New Line Cinema party. "The One Party to Rule them All" came about when a group of dedicated TheOneRing.net fans in Los Angeles decided to hold an event to celebrate three things: 13 Oscar Nominations for Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, the eve of the Destruction of Sauron in Middle-earth time, and their favorite website TheOneRing.net. This event has been completely organized by the fans and truly lives up to TheOneRing.net's motto "Forged by and For Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien."

A ring What does the cost of the party include?
The cost of the party is $35 per person. Included in the ticket price is FREE beer and wine bar, available from 7pm to 11pm. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and appetizers will be offered throughout the party and are included in your ticket price. The remainder of the money will go to purchasing a new server for TheOneRing.net, which we so desperately need. As with all other revenue generated on TheOneRing.net, extra money will be donated to our sponsored charities. Attendees will also receive a parting gift bag at the end of the night.

A ring How do I buy tickets?
Well, unfortunately you can't get tickets as of March 17th. Tickets have SOLD OUT!!

A ring Will the stars be there?
We must be perfectly clear and say that no celebrity, cast or crew member have guaranteed their presence at our party. However, we hear through the grapevine, that because our party is the only Lord of the Rings celebration of the night, the possibility is high for some VIP appearances.

A ring If a celebrity shows up, can we ask for autographs?
The One Party to Rule them All is meant to be just that, a party. Please do not ask any celebrities or VIPs for their autograph during the event. After all, if any celebrities do show up, they are there to relax and enjoy themselves, just like you and me. However, photography will be allowed, so feel free to bring your cameras to the event.

A ring Can I bring a video camera?
Unfortunately ONLY still cameras will be allowed into the party. TheOneRing.net's TORn Digital crew will be there, filming a documentary. If the filming is successful, we'll be able to offer the documentary to TORn fans worldwide.

A ring So what exactly does "Black Tie and Pointy Ears Optional" mean?
This is a Hollywood Oscar Party, and we would like for the fans attending to really get into the spirit by dressing up. Black Tie optional means that if you have a Tux, or an Evening Gown, wear it. (TheOneRing.net staff will be dressed to the max!) If you do not have that, go with the next best thing. This does not mean you should dress down at all. You are also welcome to attend in costume, with limitations. If you do decide to attend in costume, please limit your costume creativity to ONLY Lord of the Rings AND please read our Costuming FAQ to ensure you are within the standards for the party.

A ring Where do we park?
Self Parking is available on Schraeder St. right around the corner from our party. The Hollywood Athletic Club is located on the corner of Schraeder and Sunset Blvd. The parking cost $6 - $10 depending upon the lot you choose.

A ring This place is big, is there a special entrance?
Yes, the private entrance to our party will be on Sunset Blvd. Look for "The One Party to Rule them All" sign.

A ring What do I need to bring?
Besides yourself, please bring a valid Photo I.D to the Party. Your I.D. is your ticket.

A ring Age Requirement?
As of Tuesday, we have been able to drop the age requirement to 18 and older. However, when purchasing tickets, please note that you are under 21 on your order. this can be done in the comments section of the shopping cart.

A ring Are we actually watching the Oscars?
Yes. There will be a large screen TV and multiple TV monitors throughout the club to view the entire Oscar ceremony LIVE. One room will be devoted to viewing the broadcast, while another will have a professional DJ with the event muted on the TV.

A ring What else is going on?
We will be holding a raffle to give away over $3000 worth of Lord of the Rings merchandise from our sponsors and various donors. A list of raffle items will be available upon entry, so that you will know what you could win, if you choose to purchase raffle tickets. We will also hold silent auctions for exclusive items which can only be found at our Awards Party. Raffle ticket prices will be set at a later date.
