Halloween Costume Party 1999
Greetings fellow Ringers! That most pagan of holidays is drawing
close, and the druids are readying their rituals. Interestingly, so
are Tolkien fans. It appears that many of us (myself included) have
taken to donning alternate identities to celebrate All Hallows Eve
(Hallowe'en). Even better, it appears that there are those among us
who are going to attempt to become some of our favorite characters
from the saga we love. Well, if you are one of those planning to
become any of the characters from The Lord of the Rings, we here at
TheOneRing.net™ want to hear about it, and see it too!! There might
even be something in it for you!! That's right, we'd like to announce
the first official TheOneRing.net™ Halloween contest. There will be
five categories, and a prize will be given for the best costume in
each category. We're talkin' cool stuff here, folks-- I might even be
tempted to dust off my Gandalf impersonation!

Offical Rules:
- There will be five categories: dwarves, elves, men, hobbits, and maia/other creatures.
Maia/other creatures will consist of wizards, balrogs, all maia, Trolls, dragons,
Tom Bombadil etc.
- All entries must be postmarked by November 20, 1999 and received by November 27, 1999.
- Initial judging will start on November 28th. Final judging by the viewers of
TheOneRing.net™ will begin on December 6, 1999.
- All entries must include a picture of the person, his/her e-mail address,
and a small note saying who he/she is supposed to be although it is not required,
a small description of the character would be a good thing to include.
- All people submitting pictures give permission to TheOneRing.net™ to post
those pictures on the website TheOneRing.net™ staff will evaluate all entries
in a primary round. Once the top three submissions from each category have been selected,
the photographs will be posted on the site. The final winner(s) in each category
will be decided based on votes they receive from visitors to the site.
